Using automation for Fun & Profit with Python and Selenium

I looked through my external hard drive recently and realized just how many Python scripts I’ve made over the past 2 years or so.

Most of the applications involved scraping the web to get contact info from companies for sales leads, but I’ve also used the Python/Selenium web driver solution to contact potential customers via automated messages. In an ideal world, you’d do both at the same time.

I thought I’d mention this because it can literally be a gold mine if you’ve got good targeting, high quality services, and great writing. Time is money, and if you can multiply your efforts and scale them, you’ll have a huge advantage over the competition.

Bonus points if your able to move your automation scripts from off of your laptop to being able to run it in the cloud. Just be careful. I did a project like that in AWS and ended up paying $200. I’m currently looking for a cheaper solution that’s as close to free as possible.

I have something in mind that’s actually just a tweak of my old solution, but I’m not willing to pay just to test it right now. If you’ve found a good replacement for AWS Lambda for frequent posts (1 per minute), let me know…
